Qantas 707 Heads to Australia After 9 Years

The relocation process has begun for the Boeing 707-138B aircraft that John Travolta had announced years ago would be donated to the HARS Aviation Museum in Australia.
The aircraft, registered N707JT, was dismantled in Georgia and loaded onto a ship for transport to Australia. It is expected to arrive at Port Kembla around May 9, after which it will be transported by road to the HARS facility in Shellharbour.
➡️ The aircraft is not an ordinary 707. Built in 1964 for Qantas, it is one of the last examples of the short-bodied 707-138B series. It was later purchased by John Travolta and operated for many years in Qantas livery. Travolta had announced plans to donate the aircraft to HARS in 2017.
However, the aircraft’s return to Australia took longer than expected. Due to cost, logistical, and technical challenges, the process was delayed for years. HARS stated that the aircraft will be reassembled for museum display rather than returned to flight, with a long-term goal of restoring it to taxiing condition.
